Advantages
- The current manufacturer documentation confirms Bluetooth LE, ANT+, GymLink and support for two simultaneous Bluetooth connections.
- The manufacturer specifies one-session memory up to 30 hours, a user-replaceable CR2025 battery and up to 400 hours of battery life.
- Polar publishes exact dimensions, weight, WR30 rating and Pro Strap fit ranges for the currently listed variants.
Limitations
- NST has not independently validated accuracy, connection stability, comfort, strap durability, water resistance or battery life.
- Polar warns that enabled ANT+ or Bluetooth broadcasting is not private and compatible devices may receive the signal; unused connections should be disabled.
- Bluetooth and ANT+ do not work in water, even though the sensor is water resistant; Polar documents GymLink as the water-use transmission.
- Compatibility and strap size must be checked against the exact receiving device, app, equipment and wearer before purchase.
- A heart-rate reading does not diagnose a condition, establish exercise safety or replace assessment of unexpected symptoms.
- No price, star rating, review count, affiliate link or product image is recorded.
Alternatives before buying
A compatible watch optical sensor, manual pulse checks where appropriate, perceived exertion, pace or no heart-rate device may fit the task better. This record establishes no need to buy a chest strap.
