May not need it

Someone with access to suitable gym equipment, someone who already owns adequate weights, or a beginner whose training needs can be met with bodyweight, bands or second-hand fixed dumbbells may not need it.

Advantages

• PowerBlock UK states that Stage 1 is sold as a pair and reaches 22.7 kg per hand.
• PowerBlock UK states that separate expansion kits raise the maximum to 31.8 kg and then 40.8 kg per hand.
• The current official UK page provides the complete selectable-weight table and a 12.1 cm long, 38 mm diameter contoured TPR grip.

Limitations

• Stage 1-specific external dimensions have not been confirmed. Do not use dimensions for the wider Elite EXP range to judge storage space or exercise clearance; confirm the exact UK Stage 1 model before buying if size matters.
• Cradle inclusion and maximum unit weight remain unverified and are omitted from the comparison.
• The official manual says not to drop or strike the dumbbells.
• Conflicting first-party warranty wording, including different drop thresholds in the manual and UK warranty page, remains unresolved, so no warranty period or drop-related warranty consequence may appear publicly.
