Mostly a comfort buy. When researchers pooled the studies, air compression boots gave only a small lift in muscle function and a small drop in how sore people felt, and in runners they did nothing for real muscle damage. Nice to use, but not a shortcut to recovering faster.

A small, real recovery aid, not a game changer. When researchers pool the studies, compression helps recovery a little, most of all strength after lifting, and slightly raises blood flow back to the heart. Worth it if a snug pair makes your legs feel better. Skip it if not.
